How Sameera and his team are helping Lak Daruwo

Sameera and his team assembling computers for Attanagalla project 		We saw the progress the first few children are making with the computer that was placed at the center just after Nuwan's visit last year (2001). With the few lessons Nuwan and I conducted, it was apparent that these students have enough talents to do well in computer education. Nuwan was confident and was very much determined to put more computers and make a complete computer center at Attanagala which we considered to be developed as the pilot project.
I got various computer parts time to time to assemble computers for the center. All these were hand carried by those who came from USA. Both me and Nuwan knew that we need assistance to handle the repairs, assembling machines etc if we to operate a complete computer lab as I could not devote full time due to commitments at work. Also, we needed a reliable party who would provide items at reasonable rates for the project was entirely funded by Nuwan and Anurudha at that time. Sameera and his workshop came to my mind immediately for I knew he would help us when I explain our work.

Fixing computers at Attanagalla Computer Center 		Today he and his staff (Universal Computer Systems and Aurora technologies) has done a tremendous contribution to the project by not only assembling computers free of charge with what ever the part we have provided but also by providing items at cost prices. His undertaking to train Dineh Kumara of the Lak Daruwo to handle simple maintenance work at site during the August school vacation is also remembered with appreciation. We also kindly remember his support in repairing faulty items, configuring software and allowing credit facility.
