We talk and hear much talk about the past and the future of Sri Lanka: how prosperous the
country was, and how unpredictable the situation will be. Sadly, however, the present course of
actions has mostly been limited to mere talk. Talk is cheap, and talk without proper action
will turn to be futile and dangerous. Lakdaruvo is here to act, not just to talk.

Having lived both in Sri Lanka and the United States, I have noticed several positive characteristics
about young students in Sri Lanka. They are very intelligent and guidable just like most students in
the USA, and, with proper assistance and guidance, they possess enormous power to lead Sri Lanka
towards huge economic strength. However, Sri Lankan children must take several important messages
from the USA to shape themselves as the future builders of the nation.

Lak Daruwo has sprouted out of this awareness. With the held of the present network, we will strive
both to convey these messages to Sri Lankan children and to educate them, while preserving their
traditional cultures. In other words, Lak Daruwo is our channel to empower the young Sri Lankans
with the knowledge and tools to become the future leaders.

Though Lak Daruwo has originated out of few individuals, it is our vision and desire to see that
many Sri Lankans both living in Sri Lanka and abroad join us. We also believe that we have
already created a model that can be replicated across the country.
|
|
I would like to emphasize that Lak Daruwo is not bound by religion or race. You all are welcome
to participate in terms of funding and/or guiding our students.
|
|
It is our sincere hope that these youngsters will help lead Sri Lanka towards economic success,
while retaining their cultural and spiritual values.
