The Lak Daruwo center at Sankapala Purana Rajamaha Vihara is the third educational
center started by Lak Daruwo network. 110 children currently benefit from the
programs conducted under our guidance. Sankapala Rajamaha Vihara is situated in
a beautiful village close to Embilipitiya and surrounded by a ring of mountains.
This is an extremely rural area in Sri Lanka and most of the people are very poor
and live wih many hardships in their day-to-day life. Sankapala Rajamaha Vihara is
the center of the village, and most of the children in the village attend the dhamma
school conducted by the very active you priest Ven. Nagitha thero. Today most of
those children are enrolled in Lak Daruwo and participate in our educational programs.
Lak Daruwo has given the much needed hope for these children who would otherwise become
poor villages just as their parents.
