Naturally, the future of a country vastly depends on its new generation, and, of course, Sri Lanka is no exception to this theory. We strongly believe that the sons and daughter of present Sri Lankan parents will make a positive difference in our motherland's future. However, mere expectation is not enough; it is our duty to strengthen the younger generation in the best possible way. Our kids will fulfill their duty, but now it is our duty to harness them with the best possible knowledge and the spirit needed to challenge their future barriers. Lak Daruwo started with that aim, and we hope this initiative step will allow us to build a team that has the ability to stand on its own feet in order to prepare a brilliant future for Sri Lanka.
Lak Daruwo network now (at the end of the year 2003) helps nearly 225 children in four centers. Most of these children are found in our Embilipitiya Center. There are many more talented and qualified children who want to join our programs. However, we have to limit the number, depending on the resource available to us. As the Lak Daruwo network grows, we will be able to help more and more talented children in our motherland of Sri Lanka.
Our Lak Daruwo team cares about all the children enrolled in our programs. We pay them attention on individual basis when required. Every single child in the program is treated with same importance. We consider them a special group of children who has shown the potential to become important future contributors or leaders for our country. In Lak Daruwo our aim is to have over 90% success rate in helping our children realize their potentials. We understand that this is a very high goal for us, but, by applying right strategies at the right time, we believe that this goal is achievable. .
