Attanagalla was the starting point of Lak Daruwo intiative. We established our first center
at the historic Attanagalla Rajamaha Vihara at the end of 2001. Since its inception, the project,
considered as the pilot program, has undergone many changes. Currently, 55 children from Attanagalla
and surrounding areas benefit from this program. We have developed most of our teaching techniques
in this center, and we have replicated those methods in other centers successfully. We have very
talented children in Attanagalla center, and many of them possess advanced computer technology skills.
The ages of this group of children ranges from 11 years to 19 years. We currently conduct a very
successful English language program here with the help of Mr. Ranjith Pushpakumara, our English teacher,
and a computer technology program with the help of Mr. Deepal Sooriarachchi, our computer teacher.
